    Q. I installed the printer package; however, when I print it defaults to simplex (single-sided) mode and not duplex.

    A. In some cases when the printer package is installing the necessary files & configurations onto the workstation not all of the printer settings are always set correctly. To re-enable duplex printing by default do the following:

    For Windows XP:

    1. Go to Start -> Printer and Faxes
    2. Right click on the appropriate printer (i.e. msc-olb115_bw, or msc-olb115_color) and select Properties
    3. Click the Device Settings tab
    4. Under Installable Options make sure that the Duplex Unit (for 2-sided printing) is set to Installed, click Apply.
    5. Click the Advanced tab then Printing Defaults…, click the Finishing tab.
    6. Under Document Options make sure that Print on both sides is enabled. Then click Ok.

    For Windows 7:

    1. Go to Start -> Devices and Printers
    2. Right click on the appropriate printer (i.e. msc-olb115_bw, or msc-olb115_color) and select “Printer Properties”

    Q. I have a firewall configured on my laptop; do I need to make exceptions?

    A. Your firewall may need to be configured to allow the Managed Print traffic. The following ports will need to be opened.

    • TCP Port 515
    • TCP Port 28203

    Q. I use Fast User Switching with my Mac and the popup client doesn’t work.

    A. The popup client utilized by Mobile Printing is not currently compatible with the Fast User Switching feature. For best results, disable Fast User Switching when installing the Mobile Print client.
