Three MSC faculty members and one staff member have been awarded Technical and Vocational Education (TVEP) funds for fiscal year 2018.
- Dr. Kathleen Nevis has been awarded $40,000 to “Get Kids Excited about Science”. The funds will be used to expand programming while keeping costs affordable for Valley families.
- Assistant Professor of Paramedicine, Dane Wallace, continues to be successful in his efforts to ensure that paramedic and EMS students are trained on the most current equipment to be found in ambulances and hospitals. Mr. Wallace has been awarded $33,000 to purchase a new training cardiac monitor/defibrillator.
- Staff member Janna Barre, working with the MSC Learning Center Advisory Committee, has been awarded $32,300 to continue renovations and purchase equipment for the MSC Testing Center.
- Dr. Harry Banks received continued funding in the amount of $47,500 to support a technical lab assistant in the CST program.
TVEP is funded by 0.16 percent of the wages on which employees are required to make unemployment insurance contributions under Alaska Statute AS 23.20.175
