    The Strong Interest Inventory®

    Interested in doing, thinking, creating, helping, persuading, or organizing? Identifying your interests and preference for work environment can help you determine career interests and a college major. In addition, this inventory exposes you to occupations people who share your interest are often found in.

    Career Coach Discover majors and in-damand careers based on your interests!

    Career Coach is a web-based tool to explore career and higher education opportunities. Easily browse current Alaska job postings, learn about workforce training and educational opportunities and access current Alaska labor market and wage data using simple online tools. 

    With Career Coach you can:

    • Take assessments that match your interests to specific college majors.
    • Learn more about in-demand careers in several industries.
    • Use a resume builder to put together a professional resume.
    • For Military Veterans: Find civilian careers related to your military occupation. 
  • Alaska Career Information System (AKCIS)

    AKCIS logoAKCIS has a plethora of information to guide and assist you in your vocational and career endeavors. It is the only regularly updated source of both Alaska and national occupational information that provides information to Alaska Native and rural populations. AKCIS is also the only system that provides information based on the needs of Alaskans. It contains numerous tools for sorting its occupational and educational information.

    With AKCIS you can:

    • Find detailed information on specific careers.
    • Take assessment and the Occupational Search to help decide what major of study or career path to choose. 
    • Find out what occupations would best suit you personally. 
    • Search for financial aid opportunities. 

    Use the following login information to access AKCIS:

    Students can create their own Portfolio to personalize username, password and search information.
