Library News and Announcements

The library will be closed on Saturdays starting this weekend (3/28).  Students, faculty, and staff, please see the library hours page for current hours of operation.

The library is only open to students, faculty, and staff of UA at this time.  The library is available for students who need access to a computer for their classes.  Unfortunately, the need to keep adequate distance between stations limits the number of computers that we can provide.  We do have a few laptops available, and additional computers are available in JKB 124.  If you have the option of using a computer from home, please do.

We are checking out library material.  Many of the public libraries are closed, but we can still obtain items from University of Alaska libraries if what you need is not in our collection.  Now may be a good time to explore the electronic journals and books that are available to you through our website as a UAA student.  Many of them will show up when you use Quick Search.  If prompted for a username and password, enter whatever you use for Blackboard.  More can be found using the research guides link.  If you don't see a research guide for your subject, click on "All Guides" for a complete list.  The guides will provide you with a list of databases that are most likely to contain articles published in journals relevant to your subject.

To our public patrons:  We have had to suspend holds and close to the general public.  We apologize for the inconvenience, and ask for your understanding.  We look forward to being able to serve you again as soon as we possibly can.

Extended Spring Break library hours:    The library will be open 9 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday.  We will be closed on Saturday.

For Sale:  Items withdrawn from the library's collection are available for sale for $2.00/each.  See a library staff member for details.  We also have Princeton files available for $2.00.  They are very handy for organizing magazines or similar items.
