Summer Study Motivation
July 16, 2018
In the middle of summer, it can be tough to stay motivated to study.
Here are 3 tips to keep you study-motivated this summer:
1-Keep your goals in mind. If you need to pass an English class to graduate this year, write your goal down somewhere to remind you daily of your path.
2-Map out your hours. With all the activities going on (hiking, camping, fishing) it is important to schedule time for your studies.
3-Treat yourself. Build in rewards to keep you going. If you finish your assignment on time or make that study session, a small/inexpensive reward goes a long ways.

MSC Celebrates 60 Years
October 10, 2018
On Thursday, October 4th, the Glenn Massay Theater played host to a litany of guests, including local dignitaries, a former college director, and UAA's new chancellor.
The celebration highlighted 6 decades of higher education in the Mat-Su Valley, that all began with a typing class in 1958, before Alaskan statehood. Throughout the evening, Director Colberg spoke about different phases of growth and expansion the college has seen, as well as, some of the memorable people who contributed greatly to our institution.
The Mat-Su Community Chorus, directed by Amber Sumner, performed a popular song from each decade of the college's existence throughout the evening, including: At the Hop by Danny and the Juniors from 1958, Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson in 1988, and, most recently, I'm Yours by Jason Mraz in 2008.
It was a great opportunity to collectively reflect on our past as an educational institution, examine our present situation in the context of history, and plan for the future, however unknown.
