Pre-College Pathways
Options to start your pre-college journey:
High school (Secondary school) students can take classes at UAA | Mat-Su College (MSC) to begin working towards their college education. There are a few options for attending.

Dual Enrollment
A dual enrollment student is one who is simultaneously enrolled in a high school curriculum and also is taking courses at UAA | Mat-Su College. Secondary students independently register for regular scheduled university courses and pay tuition and fees, often in agreement with an external funder (e.g. school district, tribal organization, municipality). Course and grade go on permanent university transcript and are transferable across the universities within the UA System or as determined by the receiving institution

CTE and Dual Credit Academic
The Mat-Su Borough School District (MSBSD) and University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) partner to provide a dual enrollment opportunity through the Career Technical Education (CTE) and Dual Credit Academic. The program allows high school (secondary) students to receive college credit at UAA | Mat-Su College by successfully completing specific, pre-approved courses at their high school. Course and grade go on permanent university transcript and are transferable across the universities within the UA System or as determined by the receiving institution

Mat-Su Middle College School
Enroll in Mat-Su Middle College School (MSMCS) and begin earning credits that count towards your high school requirements and begin working on your college degree. You will take classes taught by MSC Faculty on the Mat-Su College campus. Course and grade go on permanent university transcript and are transferable across the universities within the UA System or as determined by the receiving institution

Notice of Availability: Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available online at: www.uaa.alaska.edu/safety. The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Noncampus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years. If you would like to receive a paper copy of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, you can stop by the UAA Police Department Office at Room 114 of Eugene Short Hall on the Anchorage campus or request a copy be mailed to you by calling 907-786-1120 or emailing police@uaa.alaska.edu.
