Academic Advising
Advisors are professional educators here to help you navigate through the university system from beginning to graduation. They meet you at the point where you are entering your educational journey, and assist you in developing pathways for you to achieve your goals. Our advisors are knowledgeable academic guides, coaches, and referral experts that work with you to develop a personalized plan for your success.
If you experience difficulties adjusting to college or encounter a barrier to your success, an academic advisor can work with you to find resources or help you make important academic decisions. They can suggest new strategies to improve your study skills, time management, and test taking abilities.

Financial aid comes in many forms, so our Financial Aid Advisors are here to assist you with making your dreams of a quality education come true. Make an appointment with one of our Financial Aid Advisors and learn how to apply for aid, what options are available to you, and how to manage your aid. Every single student should apply for financial aid – do not assume you are not eligible! Part-time and full-time degree-seeking students are eligible to receive federal financial aid funds.

Why take general education classes? Learn something new without committing to a degree. Build skills like critical thinking, effective writing, and analysis. Stay engaged and connect with your community of learners.
General Education ClassesOkeson Library provides research tools
Offering a wide range of resources, including a collection of over 70,000 items with
access to UAA/APU Consortium, Anchorage Public Libraries, and an international library
system, Okeson Library subscribes to print versions of five newspapers, 47 magazines,
and thousands of periodicals through online services.
A computer lab is located in the library, with a variety of study areas, promoting
a collaborative learning environment for students.
